In this premiere episode, Christine interviews author/Pastor Zack Eswine on the topic of depression. During the conversation, Zack shares some of his personal experience with despondency, wise & unwise ways to approach loved ones who are suffering, the blessing of biblical metaphor in providing a language for our sorrows, as well as comfort and clarity from the Scriptures for those walking through the seasons of darkness.
The fact that God gives us [Psalm 88] not only shows us his kindness but also his knowledge – his awareness – that [depression] is one of the many experiences of life in the fallen world. And by doing so, he lets us know that it is not a surprise. We need not be alarmed. The Lord has given us a scenario here, where if we find ourselves experiencing it, we'll know how to cry out to him and learn how to wait for him.– Zack Eswine
