FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Temecula, CA, August 12, 2016—Rancho Community Church (RCC) has officially announced the selection of local author Christine Chappell‘s debut title, Clean Home, Messy Heart: Promises of Renewal, Hope, and Change for Overwhelmed Moms for their fall Mom to Mom group bible study. The semester, which is scheduled to launch on RCC’s Temecula campus on Thursday, September 8th, will provide participants the chance to utilize the book and accompanying reflection journal (also published by Chappell earlier this year) as a guided tool for daily bible reading, reflection, and weekly group discussion.
The curriculum was specifically selected by RCC’s Member Care leader Jenny Treadway to compliment the group’s mission, which is to “lovingly strengthen, encourage, build-up, and edify mothers in their God-ordained roles as wife and mother.” Of the book selection, Treadway comments, “Moms can feel so overwhelmed with the day–to–day challenges that come their way. We love how honest Christine is with her own struggles, and how she points readers back to the truths found in the gospel of Jesus Christ.”
Moms from Covenant Grace (former church plant of RCC, as well as Chappell’s home church) will also be participating in the fall group study. Moms Grounded in Grace leader, Colleen Buck, explains, “The opportunity for moms from all walks of life to meet weekly in fellowship and grow with one another in the Lord is a much needed gift and blessing to our church.”
The book, which was released in May by WestBow Press, a division of Thomas Nelson & Zondervan, chronicles Chappell’s journey through young motherhood and the heart struggles that accompany growing spiritually as a Christian woman. The pre–publication manuscript was awarded top ten honors in the 2015 WestBow Press New Look Contest, and quickly earned Amazon’s “Hot New Release” ranking in the category of Christian Living upon its debut.
Chappell will be presenting a live opening message to the group during their first session on September 8th. Attendees can expect to hear about the heart of the book from the author herself, as well as encouraging words for beginning their journey through the curriculum as a group.
“My biggest desire for this study is that the women participating gain renewed hope, joy, and strength from the Scriptures,” Chappell shares. “The grace of the gospel truly does intersect with every facet of our lives, and no where is that more apparent than in interactions we have with our children and our spouses.”
The study is currently open for registration and is set to be held weekly on Thursday mornings from 9:15am-11:15am, running from September 8th through November 17th. The cost to participate is $28, which includes a copy of Chappell’s book, journal, and childcare during the weekly meeting time. Women looking to participate do not need to be members of RCC or Covenant Grace Church, but are strongly recommended to sign up in advance in order to secure a spot in the study.
