Women’s ministry groups from Rancho Community Church in Temecula, CA are slated to host a free baby shower honoring the mothers currently working with Birth Choice of Temecula. The event, which will be held at Rancho on Saturday, August 6th from 9:30am-12pm, is an effort of the church’s “Mom to Mom” and “Sowers Ministries” groups, as well as community volunteers and nationwide donors.
This is the fourth year the baby shower has been thrown for Birth Choice mothers, and Executive Director Janette Chun couldn’t be more thrilled by the show of community support. “This baby shower has given our young mothers beyond what they would have ever received,” Chun explains. “It shows them that there are people that would treat them with care and compassion—with joy for their motherhood and the new life they are bringing into this world.”
Event coordinator Brittani Ibarra has also been encouraged by the continued increase of interest, volunteers, and donations locally and nationwide. “This is the 4th year of the shower,” Ibarra reflects, “and every year more and more women want to be involved. We want to show these moms our support for them and their new babies— that we love them and couldn’t be more thrilled to celebrate these new lives!”
This year’s shower theme comes from the new book release Clean Home, Messy Heart: Promises of Renewal, Hope, and Change for Overwhelmed Moms by Temecula author Christine M. Chappell. According to Ibarra, learning about the new book release couldn’t have been more perfectly timed. “I was at a loss for what I would use for a theme and where I could find a speaker,” Ibarra recalls. “Sitting in my home with my two children on a messy floor filled with toys, I logged on Facebook and found I had received an invitation for the book launch. I read the title and suddenly knew that this book had to be shared and we needed to hear more!”
Attending the shower is free and open to the public, subject to advanced reservation. Attendees are asked to bring an unwrapped baby item upon their arrival, which will in turn be donated to Birth Choice. The event includes brunch, games, raffles, as well as a special message by Clean Home, Messy Heart author Christine M. Chappell.
The shower has been the recipient of an astonishing supply of donated supplies and services. Those interested in learning more about the items that have been provided by vendors can visit the event’s Facebook page to view information about each company.
