In this episode of The Hope + Help Project, Christine Chappell guides a powerful conversation with Pastor/author Rush Witt on the topic of fighting against diehard sins and destructive daily habits. Rush shares about his personal experience with biblical counseling early in his marriage, helps listeners unpack the undercurrents of our heart struggles, gives practical steps for pursuing spiritual growth while avoiding the pitfall of morbid introspection, and ultimately offers courage and clarity for the Christian who is desperate for change but feels stuck in the struggle.
If we want to see change, it will not be enough to change our circumstances. It won't be enough to cut someone or something out of our lives, though those changes may be needed. It won't be enough to address some physiological problem. We ultimately need heart change, and it needs to be change on two levels: beliefs and desires.– Rush Witt
